Stainless Steel Profiles: Uses and Joining Methods

What Is a Stainless Steel Profile
A stainless steel profile is one of the metal products most commonly used in decoration work. Because it is so well suited to decorative applications, it is a very widespread and popular choice. This versatile product is produced as a welded profile. An indispensable element of decoration and used in almost every workshop, most profiles are hollow and square-edged. Stainless steel profiles are produced in a variety of sizes.
What Can Be Made With Stainless Steel
With stainless steel profiles you can first build any kind of frame, then fit it with glass, wood or patterned stainless steel panels. Products of this kind are becoming increasingly common and can be seen in shops, cafes and the clothing retail sector. In clothing retail the product is used extensively, for example in garment racks and display counters. In cafes it appears in tables, chairs and similar furniture.
In retail stores, stainless profiles should be chosen because they do not rust, and they are in fact used in almost every product manufactured for this sector. They have become an essential part of most projects undertaken today. For decoration companies, they can be produced in custom lengths on request. These profiles can be used in every kind of product; they free you from worries about rust, there is no need to apply an extra coat of paint, and, most importantly, they can be used safely in humid conditions and outdoor areas.
How Stainless Steel Profiles Are Joined
The welding method used to join stainless steel profiles to one another is known as argon (TIG) welding. Joints made with argon welding are very clean and strong, and the likelihood of rust forming at the welded areas is greatly reduced. If other welding machines are used, an electrode must be employed and the joint must then be ground to achieve a clean, attractive finish. Apart from welding, these profiles can also be joined with screw fastening systems. Welded profile joints are known to be stronger than screwed joints.
