What Is Stainless Steel Pipe

Stainless steel pipe, which serves many applications today, is used and preferred by a great many businesses for its rust-free, corrosion-resistant character. Because it resists corrosion, it prevents problems such as rust. Along with this resistance, stainless steel pipe is easy to clean, which makes it a satisfying choice for many users.
Stainless Steel Pipes
Beyond their attractive appearance, stainless steel pipes with decorative patterns give users the option of installing them in a variety of settings. Each type of stainless steel pipe has applications suited to its properties, and although the pipes are durable, a product should meet certain specifications before it is purchased. Used most often in the construction industry today, stainless steel pipes make buildings and homes both stronger and more decorative. Stainless steel pipes are divided into two types according to their properties: welded stainless steel pipe and seamless stainless steel pipe.
Welded Stainless Steel Pipe
Welded stainless steel pipe has a lower pressure rating than seamless stainless pipe, chiefly because welding is used in its production; the weld reduces the pressure rating of the pipe. Welded stainless steel pipe is chosen for its decorative appearance. All stainless steel pipes used in working environments are welded, which is why its suitability for low-pressure lines and its decorative qualities are the main reasons it is so widely used.
Seamless Stainless Steel Pipe
Seamless stainless steel pipe has a higher pressure rating than welded pipe, which is why it is preferred for high-pressure working environments. The higher pressure rating comes from the fact that it is formed as a single piece. Production begins by casting molten steel into round molds. Once the pipes have taken on their round, cylindrical form, they move on to the next stage, pickling, which cleans the steel pipes.
