Stainless Steel Pipe: Welded and Seamless Pipes

Used across multiple industries, stainless steel pipe is chosen above all for its durability. Alongside that durability, these pipes offer high resistance to corrosion, and because they are easy to maintain, they have become indispensable in every sector. Aesthetically pleasing as well, they have a brighter surface, which is why architects in the construction industry give them priority. Stainless steel pipes are divided into two types, known as welded and seamless. Anyone unfamiliar with these two terms can find information on the differences between them below.
Seamless Stainless Pipe
Also known as drawn stainless pipe, this type is, as the name indicates, produced from steel. The fact that it is made of steel plays an important role in its being among the best-selling pipes, and it outsells its competitors.
While not seen everywhere, this product is frequently found in the machine parts around us. Produced by hot drawing in factories, it has a more homogeneous structure, which makes it stronger, and thanks to that strength it is used extensively today. These pipes are also shaped to customers' requirements using high-powered machinery.
Welded Stainless Pipe
Welded pipes, which share the same structure as seamless pipes, are also in high demand. Similar in production method, these products are used very widely. The raw material of welded pipe is the semi-finished product known as coil sheet. The coils are slit to widths matching the pipe diameters at large steel service centers. The slit coil strip is then bent on large mill lines, first taking a C shape and then closing into an O shape.
For industrial use, the product is also produced in HF-welded or TIG-welded forms, although these processes take more time. The pipes produced to meet these requirements are then delivered to customers.
